SF State Completes Greenhouse Gas Audit
SF State completed its first GHG Emissions Inventory in May 2008. Emissions from SF State's electricity and natural gas usage, commuting and air travel mileages, and trash tonnages are included. Read the report.
SF State Buildings with Recycling!
Over the past ten years SF State has converted each building on campus to a Best Practices Building. With a generous donation from Grainger and the California Integrated Waste Management Board the remaining rooms on campus will receive recycle bins by 2010. Combi desk side recycling-trash bins are in place in offices and large recycle bins are in classrooms and labs.
Recycling Made Easier
Sunset Scavenger will begin collecting all hard plastics. No need to look at those numbers. Please place all hard plastics, cans, bottles and paper in the many recycle bins around campus! The whole campus is on the single stream recycling system.

Campus Custodial Services is converting to “Green Cleaning.” The program is currently being implemented in all buildings.
Cesar Chavez Student Center Composting Initiative
ECO Students have implemented composting in the Student Center kitchens and bathrooms. This year the composting program will expand to the dining areas.
