Coffee Cups

"Starbucks annual cup use alone is 1.5 Billion."

Paper coffee cups have a plastic interior lining which prevents liquids from seeping through the paper. Due to the plastic lining, paper coffee cups cannot be recycled. This is a major source of contamination at SF State.

You can discard the coffee cups into compost collection at the Cesar Chavez Student Center, the Vista Room Dining Hall, or City Eats Dining Center. Rember to separate the recyclable paper sleeve and plastic lid.

We encourage everyone on campus to carry a reusable mug.
